Psalm 1 - The Author Of My Life

Psalm 1 - There are many things that I take delight in… at various levels of “delightment.”  I take delight in my marriage and family.  I take delight in a good ball game and a large deluxe pizza with extra sauce.  But my biggest delight is in the law of the Lord (verse 2).

By definition, laws are principles and regulations established by an authority.  So why should we take delight in God’s laws?  Because this means we have handed authority of our lives over to God.  This makes God the author of all that we are and all that we will become.  Our joy comes from allowing our creator… the one who loves us the most… to speak into our lives purpose and direction!

Thank you, Lord, for your laws in my life.  Continually draw me away from other things that try to author my life.  Amen.
